ABOUT US

Spacecraft began as a community creative space in October 2019 with a warm and well stocked workshop on Capitol Hill. Five months later, the pandemic hit and turned the world upside-down. We quickly pivoted to hosting our workshops online, and in September 2021 we closed our brick and mortar location.

Today, we are keeping our original creative community dreams alive by continuing to host our arts and crafts classes online, learning that we don’t need to share space to share skills, laughs, and fabulous creations. Join us from the comfort of your home, and be inspired by all you can do!

“If you're alive, you're a creative person.

You and I and everyone you know are descended from tens of thousands of years of makers. Decorators, tinkerers, storytellers, dancers, explorers, fiddlers, drummers, builders, growers, problem-solvers, and embellishers—these are our common ancestors.

The guardians of high culture will try to convince you that the arts belong only to a chosen few, but they are wrong and they are also annoying. We are all the chosen few.”

- Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic

A few FAQ

Do you do private parties?

Absolutely! We love hosting virtual team-building sessions, or we’re happy to come to you and help organize the craft party of your dreams. Baby-showers, bachelorette parties, birthdays and more—whatever the occasion, we can’t wait to help you celebrate with a splash of creativity. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and start planning.

Can I teach my craft?

Yes, please! We’re always looking for energetic creative spirits who want to share their skills. We’re not big on formalities, so please just shoot us an email explaining what you’d like to teach with some examples of your work, and we’ll be in touch.

Can I get a refund?

Class and workshop payments to Spacecraft are non-refundable. If something comes up and you are not able to attend at the specified class time, you may transfer your registration to another person.

Our classes are intended to be social experiences. In the event that fewer than 5 students enroll in a class, we reserve the right to cancel (up to 24 hours in advance). If we have to cancel a class, we will contact you directly and issue a refund.

What if I hurt myself?

Everything you do with Spacecraft is at your own risk. It’s up to you to be smart and stay safe. By participating in our workshops, you agree to the following statement:

I recognize that participation in some activities with Spacecraft, even when well supervised and managed, poses a risk to myself and/or my peers, and I agree to assume such risk. I hereby hold Spacecraft, its staff and agents harmless from liability for any and all medical and/or accident expenses that I may incur at Spacecraft.
